Warmth, cheer when Silver Angels are near

Silver Angels landed Saturday, Dec. 13, at two local care facilities, bringing gifts and warmth to residents who may otherwise have few visitors this holiday season.
Formerly orchestrated through the Silver Angels for the Elderly nonprofit, which has since dissolved, this was the sixth year that volunteer Silver Angels, along with Santa Dave Sheldon, delivered presents to residents to remind them they are being thought of as Christmas draws near.
Celebrations took place at Coeur d'Alene's Lakeside Rehabilitation and Care Center and Ironwood Rehabilitation and Care Center. A choir of five sang for the residents at Lakeside. Cupcakes made by a local baker accompanied the 150 gift bags that were distributed.
"We are blessed to be able to have so many angels with kind hearts," head Angel Diane Zell said.
