Alice Fulkerson, 99

Alice (Absalonson) Fulkerson passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2025, one day after her 99th birthday in Amarillo, Texas.
She was born in Badger, Minnesota to Anton and Olga Absalonson. After losing her mother at two years old, her dad took his four children to North Dakota and worked on his sister's farm. A few years later he moved the family to the Flathead Valley.
Alice met her future husband, Jim, while attending Whitefish High School. She stayed home and raised her family until the youngest was in school.
Alice then went to work for Drs. Lockridge, Whalen, and Hogan in the old Frank Lloyd Wright building for six years before moving to First National Bank. She retired from 1st National as Cashier after 22 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Jim, her parents, Anton and Olga Absalonson, brothers, Ernest, Orvall and Oliver Absalonson, sons-in-law, William Carper and Dennis Gabriel.
She is survived by her four children, Marcia Carper, Jolene (Steve) Raybourn, Mary Jo Gabriel and Jim (Janet) Fulkerson, nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Whitefish in June 2026.
