Ramsey Racoons spread Christmas cheer

Santa Claus, played by Ramsey Magnet School of Science kindergarten teacher Sunday Johansen, and elf Shelby Cook, behavioral support assistant, hand candy canes to a visiting family Tuesday evening during the school's inaugural Books, Cocoa and Christmas Cheer Drive-Thru.

Ramsey Magnet School of Science hosted its inaugural Books, Cocoa and Christmas Cheer Drive-Thru event Tuesday evening.
The west parking lot was adorned with festive lights. Ramsey students drove through with their parents to receive gently used books, learning activities to keep their minds busy over winter break, candy canes from Santa and cups of hot cocoa.
The Coeur d'Alene High School varsity cheerleaders joined the event, dancing and singing along to Christmas music to help spread the holiday cheer.
Ramsey officials hope to make Books, Cocoa and Christmas Cheer an annual holiday tradition.
