Glacier National Park’s visitation has topped 3 million again this year, with 3.086 million people estimated to have visited Glacier through October.
Through October, visitation is off slightly compared to last season by just 2.5%.
The data was delayed due to the government shutdown, which went through October and into the first two weeks of November.
All told visitation in October was down 22.7% as snows closed the alpine section of the Going-to-the-Sun Road on Oct. 11.
The government shut down also had tourists thinking the park was closed to visitors, when it was actually open.
September was also down from the previous year about 53,000 visitors, as the park had its reservation system through the entire month, as opposed to the second week of September in previous years.
All told, October saw 127,537 visits, while September saw 552,479.
Last year the total was 3.208 million for the year.
The busiest year ever was 2017, when 3.305 million people visited.
