A Polson woman, accused of an unprovoked attack against a person with a baseball bat, faces new charges for allegedly assaulting members of her family.
Talyn Shiloh Bird, 23, entered a plea of not guilty in District Court in Polson Dec. 17 to felony strangulation of a partner or family member and misdemeanor partner or family member assault. She was already facing a trial in April on a felony charge of assault with a weapon and misdemeanor criminal mischief.
The new charges stem from an incident at Cherry Hill Apartments in Polson Dec. 10 when she allegedly fought with her mother and sister. The baseball bat incident occurred at Sacajawea Park in Polson July 7.
Judge Molly Owen released Bird on her own recognizance after she was arraigned on the initial charges on Oct. 22. Judge Owen set the new case for trial on June 1.
Bird remains in custody at the Lake County Jail with bond totaling $27,500 between the two cases.
