Bruce Behrman, 76
Bonners Ferry Herald | UPDATED 1 day, 22 hours AGO
A belated eulogy to be read over coffee at the 3 Mile.
Here's to you Bruce!
Bruce Bentley Behrman. Son to Ethel and Bud Behrman. Little brother to Marie, Marilyn and Myrna. Big brother to Marlene and Marva. Dad to Kelsey. Grandpa to Colton, Mia and Kyla.
I think that today Bruce would love to see us laughing hard and remembering the things worth remembering about him. The things that defined him and the things that we admired him for.
As his nephew, Kevin, would say, "In Bruce's time, he was a mountain of a man." He was built of something different. He had ferocity in physical stature, work ethic and a heart so big and full of love for the luckiest of us.
If you happened to have a good sense of humor, he probably shared many a hearty laugh with you over a good dirty joke. That was actually what I remember from the first time I met him. A joke that made me feel like I could be myself.
During his life, Bruce's generosity spilled over, whether you were in a tough spot of spirit or just trying to get by with what you had. As the only boy in his family, Bruce showed all his nephews what it was to be a man. To show up every day to work, whether it be the work week or the work-weekend. He believed that no real man has a day off and had an inventive, mechanical brilliance that Behrmans are known for.
His life lives on in his family and the people's lives he impacted. I know we are grateful for that today in our remembrance of him.
