The Mission girls basketball team continued its strong start to the season with a pair of convincing Class B victories, rolling past Arlee and Deer Lodge to remain unbeaten heading into the holiday break.

Mission opened the week with a 69-10 win over Arlee in a matchup of longtime valley rivals.

The Lady Bulldogs set the tone early, blanking Arlee in the opening quarter and building a 16-0 lead before pulling away with a 25-point second quarter. Mission maintained control on both ends of the floor throughout the game, holding Arlee scoreless in the fourth.

Kieran Incashola led Mission with 24 points, while Mary Lamere added 16. Cora Matt scored eight, Brooklyn McClure had seven, and Shaeden Cain finished with five. Madison Incashola, Valentina O’Brien and Leslia Stops also contributed as Mission improved to 5-0.

Mission also defeated Deer Lodge 66-26, again jumping out quickly. The Lady Bulldogs took a 16-7 lead after one quarter and extending the margin to 44-11 at halftime behind a 28-point second quarter.

Mission’s depth and defensive pressure were evident, as the Bulldogs forced turnovers and spread scoring across the lineup.

Shaeden Cain paced Mission with 13 points, while Mary Lamere added 10 points and five assists. Kieran Incashola scored eight points with five steals, and Leslia Stops added eight. Cora Matt finished with six points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Taryn LaFrombois chipped in six points and five assists.

Arlee struggled to find offense against Mission’s defense, with the Scarlets limited to six points at halftime and unable to mount a sustained run.
