The Two Eagle River and Charlo boys basketball teams were busy last week, squaring off in a conference showdown and facing nonconference competition as the Class C season continued to take shape.

The Two Eagle River Eagles delivered one of their most explosive performances of the season Saturday, rolling past Alberton 89-47.

The Eagles set the tone early with a 24-point first quarter and never let up, scoring at least 24 points in each of the first three periods. Two Eagle’s pace and perimeter shooting overwhelmed Alberton, which struggled to slow the Eagles’ transition game.

Jayvian Burke poured in a game-high 44 points to lead Two Eagle, accounting for nearly half of the team’s total. Rhiley Gates added 22 points, while Kayson Gates chipped in 12.

Talon Addison scored seven, with Jason Trahan and Liam Shepherd adding two points apiece as Two Eagle improved to 4-2 overall.

Alberton was led by Shea Fredette with 28 points, followed by Devin Hill with 10.

One night earlier, Two Eagle earned a 78-65 win over the Charlo Vikings in a competitive conference matchup.

The Eagles controlled the game early, building a double-digit lead by halftime, but Charlo responded with a strong second half to keep the contest within reach. Two Eagle answered every run, outscoring the Vikings 23-21 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Burke again led the way with 35 points, while Rhiley Gates finished with 15. Thomas Addison added 10 points, and Dreyden Hendrickx scored eight as Two Eagle moved to 3-2 on the season.

Charlo was paced by Kenyan DuMont with 20 points. Karson Cox added 19, and Ranson Hout contributed 15, while Tasker Brown scored eight and Ecko Edwards added three.
