Whitefish boys go 2-0 at Frenchtown Tip-Off, fall to Glendive

The Whitefish boys basketball team put together a strong showing at the Frenchtown Tip-Off tournament before dropping a nonconference matchup to Glendive later in the week.
Whitefish Bulldogs finished unbeaten at the Frenchtown Tip-Off on Dec. 12-13, the only Northwest A boys team to go 2-0 during the weekend event.
Whitefish closed the tournament Saturday, Dec. 13, with a convincing 76-48 win over Stevensville. The Bulldogs jumped out early with a 26-point first quarter and never let Stevensville back into the game.
Will Sisson led the way with 21 points, knocking down four three-pointers. Cooper Dudley and Leo Bungener each added 11 points, with Dudley connecting on three shots from beyond the arc. Finn Ryan scored 10 points, while Reyd Hobart chipped in eight as Whitefish controlled the game on both ends of the floor.
On Friday, Whitefish opened tournament play with a 68-53 win over Corvallis. Sisson scored a game-high 24 points and hit three three-pointers, while Dudley added 16 points and buried four triples of his own. Jayke Thew finished with nine points, and Ryan added seven as the Bulldogs pulled away after halftime.
Following the tournament, Whitefish returned to action Friday, Dec. 19, and came up short in an 80-69 loss to Glendive.
The Bulldogs stayed within striking distance throughout the game, trailing 39-32 at halftime before Glendive extended its lead in the fourth quarter. Whitefish outscored Glendive 21-18 in the third period but was unable to close the gap down the stretch.
