WALLACE — Two people who were shot inside the Shoshone County Sherriff’s Office have been transported to the hospital, according to a source close to SCSO, while the alleged shooter remains inside the building.
Multiple area law enforcement agencies are responding to a reported active shooter at the sheriff’s office in downtown Wallace, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
Witnesses reported hearing at least seven gunshots ring out around 2:30 p.m.
The source close to SCSO said a third injured person may still be inside the sheriff’s office. It’s unclear how serious any injuries are.
A source close to the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office indicated that the alleged shooter is "holed up" inside the building, in the attorney visiting room.
Police from eight area law enforcement agencies are at the scene.
At this time, officials say community members experiencing emergencies that require Silver Valley Fire Rescue or the Kellogg Fire Department should call 208-784-1188.

MOSES LAKE — Boys and Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin officials are warning people that scammers apparently are using the club’s logo and claiming to be affiliated with the organization. The scammers allegedly were soliciting money door to door along Third Avenue early Tuesday afternoon.
