Law roundup: Police find no leads on shady situation

Fallen window shades prompted one person to contact the police. Officers found nothing suspicious in the apartment. 

Some kids reported a parked car with fogged-up windows and a “very bad smell” coming from it. 

Callers reported 16 motor vehicle crashes, including several hit-and-runs. One vehicle sideswiped a patrol car. Another patrol car was rear-ended near Kila. One crash involved a 12-year-old driver who ran into a tree.   

Somebody found a small brown dog.  

A person dressed in all black and a person in a blue flannel were spotted looking into cars parked outside a grocery store. 

A woman asked for help locating her ex-husband because she needed to talk to him about insurance paperwork. 

A woman became distraught after a baby was locked in a vehicle. The woman was able to get into the car before police arrived. 

Officers advised a woman to feed and shelter her dog after a passerby reported possible animal abuse. 

A social worker requested a welfare check for a patient who was uncharacteristically late for his dialysis appointment. The man told police he had slept in. 

Somebody's neighbor followed them across the street yelling. The woman recorded the interaction on her phone. 

A woman in gray sweatpants and a black beanie pulled her pants down before going in somebody else’s house to use the bathroom. She went on to destroy the bathroom, according to a concerned caller. 

A man with a sledgehammer tried to chase down someone in a red Jetta. 

A woman grew suspicious after a man she met online failed to show up for their date. The man claimed to be in the emergency room with a concussion, but the woman told police he never showed up at the hospital either.
