The Western News | UPDATED 11 hours, 11 minutes AGO
Betty Ann Robinson, of the Yaak Valley near Troy, Montana, (née Mastrandrea), was born on April 23, 1943, in Havre, Montana, and passed away surrounded by the love of her family.
She was one of four children born to Frank and Angelina Mastrandrea, whose heritage traced back to the Calabrian region of Italy. Raised in the Catholic tradition, Betty attended St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic School and graduated from Havre Central High School in 1963.
In July of that same year, she married Edward Robinson, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in devotion, adventure and unwavering support. The couple first made their home in Greeley, Colorado, where Edward worked for AT&T. As his career progressed, they lived in communities across the United States and Canada, and wherever they settled, Betty created a warm, welcoming home filled with love and hospitality.
Betty was a talented seamstress, a skill she learned from her mother and carried proudly throughout her life. She found joy in cooking—especially Italian dishes—gardening, home decorating and watching vintage westerns. Above all, she cherished her family. One of her greatest joys was traveling to Italy to reconnect with her aunts, uncles and cousins, deepening her bond with her family's roots.
Betty is survived by her husband, Edward Robinson; her son, William Robinson of Duvall, Washington; her grandchildren, Amber Stonehocker of Billings and Joshua Robinson of Auburn, Washington; her brother, Robert Mastrandrea; and her sisters, Shirley Knudsen of Malta, Montana, and Evelyn Johnson of Havre, Montana.
She was preceded in death by her son, Walter Robinson.
Betty's life was defined by love, resilience, and the simple joys that made her world beautiful.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Arrangements are under the Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Libby, Montana.
