Columbia Falls, Evergreen, Whitefish and Bad Rock firefighters responded to a house and vehicle fire on Wishart Road Tuesday morning.

The fire was likely caused by a heat lamp for pet cats on the front porch, Columbia Falls Fire Chief Karl Weeks said. The front porch and a nearby vehicle were fully engulfed when firefighters from Evergreen arrived first on the scene about 7:38 a.m.,with the other departments arriving shortly thereafter.

No one was injured, but the home, which was a doublewide trailer, is considered a complete loss. A fire truck was still on the scene Tuesday afternoon to douse any hot spots.

Wishart Road is right on the line between Columbia Falls and Evergreen fire districts. Three Rivers Ambulance and the Flathead County Sheriff’s Department also responded.

The Red Cross was notified to help the couple that lived in the home.
