Jack Robert Spencer, 39, was born July 11, 1986, to Daniel and Julie (Graham) Spencer near Kalispell. Jack was the fourth of five children.
Jack attended Mountain Brook and Cayuse Prairie Schools, Bigfork School and Flathead High School. He attended Parkland College in Illinois, studying massage therapy. He also trained as a certified nursing assistant and enjoyed spending time with the elderly in various nursing homes. He spent many hours helping others with landscaping and home improvement projects.
He loved music. He played trombone in grade school and high school, and drums with the Montana Highlanders.
Jack was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age nine. The increasing ravages of this disease on his body became too much to endure. He died on Dec. 25, 2025.
He is survived by his parents, Dan and Julie; his brother, Joshua (Devon) Spencer; sister, Amy Spencer; sister, Mandy (Joshua) Mohler; and sister, Tabitha (Paul) Spencer Merendino. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Norma Graham, two nephews and two nieces, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jack was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lambert Charles (Pat) and Hanna Spencer, and LaVern Byron Graham.
Jack was a carefree spirit with a big heart. His greatest joy was helping his friends and family. His genuine kindness touched everyone who knew him. Even when he was sick and in pain, his thoughts were on helping others. He lived fully, loved deeply, and left a lasting impression on all whose lives he shared. He was known as the Amazing Cat Guy due to his love of his many fur babies.
He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2 at Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls.
