No. 9 St. Regis Tigers improve to 4-0
JOHN HAMILTON | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 4 months, 2 weeks AGO
Rated No. 9 in the most recent Montana Class C basketball power poll, coach Jesse Allan’s St. Regis Tigers proved themselves worthy of such high ranking by defeating the Noxon Red Devils 73-24 in Noxon Dec. 20 to improve to 4-0 overall.
Looking every bit like a heavyweight contender for the District 14C crown later this winter, Allan and his powerful Tigers open the 2026 portion of their schedule at Polson Friday against the Pirate JV, in a late game arranged to replace the loss of one of their Hot Springs games. The Tigers will host Charlo Saturday in another 14C test.
“Karson Cox is a handful, they have some shooters and a solid big guy,” Allan said of the Charlo Vikings. “We expect a tough game, will have to be ready for them.”
The Tigers were certainly ready for the Red Devils two weeks ago, building a 29-2 lead early before cruising in for the win.
Allan said Nate Bohn scored 18 points and Conner Lulis 17 to lead St. Regis past Noxon. Senior Barrett Bessette missed St. Regis’ game with Noxon due to a prior commitment.
Scoring for Noxon was not available.
