The 6-foot-5 senior guard hit 10 3-pointers and scored 53 points — two shy of the school record — in an 87-71 loss to Alta of Sandy, Utah, in a consolation round game in the Spalding Bracket of the Tarkanian Classic on Dec. 20 at Coronado High in Las Vegas. Symons hit eight 3s and scored 34 points in the first half. “He put on a remarkable performance that I’ve never seen before,” coach Kent Leiss said. "That was absolutely Jordanesque.” For the tournament, Symons averaged 34.8 points in the four games.
