Beatrice Emma Fisher, 102
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 3 months, 1 week AGO
Beatrice Emma Fisher passed away on Dec. 12, 2025, at the Hospice House of North Idaho, just shy of her 103rd birthday.
Bea was born in St. Maries, Idaho, to Clarence and Opal Glasscock. She spent most of her life in Idaho and was deeply rooted in the Coeur d’Alene community. She began her career working for the telephone company on switchboards and later completed a long and meaningful career with the Idaho Forest Service, where she helped grow and plant trees. Later in life, she also worked at TW Fisher’s Brew Pub, staying active and connected to her community.
Bea was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a sister, friend, and committed community supporter. She lived an active, engaged life. Walking was part of her daily routine right up until her passing. She believed strongly in staying active and involved and brought people together through clubs, volunteer work, and shared activities. She also loved to travel.
Bea was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and a long-standing member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was also a member of the Rambling Rovers and the Striders. She served as a Cub Scout troop leader and participated in many community clubs. In retirement, she delivered Meals on Wheels, volunteered at local events, and served at polling booths.
Bea lived with grace and intention and never left the house without being put together. She often said she had everything she ever needed and that she had lived a good life.
She is survived by three sons: Tim Simmons and his wife, Bobbi, Steve Fisher, and Tom “TW” Fisher and his wife, Phanasorn, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is being planned on what would have been her 103rd birthday, Jan. 24, 2026. Those interested in attending are encouraged to reach out to family for details.
If you would like to plant a tree in her memory, you can visit the Arbor Day Foundation at www.arborday.org.
She was loved deeply and will be missed.
