NOISE: Home negatively impacted by sounds of I-90

I just read the article “I-90 rumble coming closer to homes.” I have complained about the noise for the last 6 months. I went to a meeting about it. I was told there was a noise test done before they started and it was determined a sound barrier was not needed. I even asked them how they decide before the extra lanes are added and the trees were taken down. They said they didn’t allocate money for sound barriers so there is nothing they can do.

All the heavy equipment being used behind my house and the ground being shaken as well as my house my back fence fell over. Luckily I have very good neighbors and the husband put the fence back up. I was really worried because I have a dog that I was afraid would get out. I contacted the road department and they sent someone out to check it out. They said since the posts weren’t in the best shape they couldn’t justify fixing it. They were OK and wouldn’t have fallen over if they had been working behind my house. That’s why the neighbor fixed it. A week later, the road department called and said they would fix my fence. Told him my neighbor fixed it. He said oh good.

I know what Jana Walker means, the noise is so bad. When they use the equipment the house shakes like an earthquake.  Also, by not putting a sound barrier up it decreases the value of my house.
