PREP WRESTLING: Trojans get a dozen into semis at North Idaho Rumble

COEUR d’ALENE — Post Falls will send 12 wrestlers to the semifinals in the 15th annual North Idaho Rumble, which began on Friday at Coeur d’Alene High. 

Tristan Mendenhall (98 pounds), Gage Loftin (106), Matthew Hamiton (113), Sawyer Sage (126), Brandon Felix (132), Rider Seguine (138), Tanner Piper (150), Kyle Miller (157), Damion Hamilton (165), Trey Smith (175), Seth Martin (190) and Xander Scholes (285) advanced to the semis for the Trojans, who lead with 182 points after the first day. 

Post Falls has won 11 of the first 14 Rumbles, the last title coming in 2023. 

Will Rossi (120), Tanner George (132), Jordan Schield (138), Logan Bradley (144), Colton Tucker (150) and Brock Armstrong advanced for the host Vikings, who are second with 118.5 points. 

Nathan Booth (175), Garrett Leonard (215), James Vincent (215) and Sebastian Mosman (285) advanced for Lake City. 

Caleb Adams (106) and Carson Leonard (120) advanced for Lakeland, which is third with 92.5 points. 

The tournament resumes today at 9 a.m. at Coeur d’Alene High.

Post Falls sends four

into Rumble semifinals

COEUR d’ALENE — Post Falls qualified three wrestlers for today’s semifinal round of the North Idaho Rumble at Coeur d’Alene High. 

Kahli Brown (132 pounds), Sophia Stewart (145) and Chloe Thomas (145) advanced for the Trojans. Stewart and Thomas will face off in the semifinal round. 

Area semifinals include Coeur d’Alene’s Jaiden DeTienne (100 pounds) and Brooklyn Anderson (165), Lake City’s Alexxis Johnson (120), Lakeland’s Teagan Patrick (107), Timberlake’s Shelby Garten (126), Kahli Brown (132), Sophia Stewart (145) and Chloe Thomas (145) of Post Falls and Kalayah White of Kellogg (138). 

Sandpoint leads the girls tournament with 80 points after the quarterfinal round.
