Choral Society begins rehearsals for spring concerts

Practices begin for the Mission Valley Choral Society Spring Concerts on Thursday, Feb. 13 from 7-9 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Polson.

The concerts are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, May 3, at the Mission Church in St. Ignatius, and 4 p.m., Sunday, May 4, in Polson.

Director Cathy Gillhouse has selected an unusual program which includes patriotic songs, spirituals, hymns, “Defying Gravity” from the musical “Wicked,” a Newfoundland folk song, and more.

The choir has existed in the Mission Valley since the 1960s and brings together a diverse group of 30 to 40 people of all ages and backgrounds, united to bring joy through music. Anyone who enjoys singing is invited to join the choir.
