Trio Collective is a creative one-stop-shop for all things thrift, consignment, gifts and more, just the way owner Lynn Nasset imagined it.  

“We have always had a vision for decor items and home goods, whether that be seeing things in our own homes or creating things into real unique, one-of-a-kind pieces,” Nasset said. 

While the store officially opened at the end of January in a shopping center near the intersection of Merdian Road and U.S. 2 in Kalispell, the endeavor had been in the back of Nasset’s mind for years. After finding the location in November, Nasset, along with her two daughters Josie Homola and Janae Kaarto, turned the dream into a reality.  

Upon walking into Trio Collective, one is greeted with an array of items across a range of price points. Baby clothes, kitchen accessories, Swedish candy, new and used women’s clothes, candles, cards and more line the walls and tables within its interior.  

“Mom’s always had an eye for the fun stuff,” Homola said.  

“She knows what people want,” Kaarto added. 

Nasset’s background in the Flathead Valley is intertwined with helping people, from substitute teaching to elderly health care assistance. Her husband, Roger Nasset, served as the Kalispell Chief of Police for over a decade before retiring at the end of 2017. 

Together, Roger and Lynn have 23 grandkids. Setting up the shop was a family venture, the trio reflected.  

“The guys were excited to do their part and help, the kids were excited to find their little things they wanted to try to sell or make,” Kaarto said. “We had a really great time.” 

The goal is for people of all ages to have a good time at the shop as well. From knickknacks and candy that will catch the eyes of kids to elevated decor and clothing for adults, a fun and changing variety of products will keep everyone busy.  

The shop also carries items from local artists and vendors, including a line of candles and hand-crafted home and personal fragrances by Sagebrush Home. The store also takes on consignments, specifically clothes, as space allows. 

Nasset and her daughters are currently expanding the hours of the store once a month for a late-night shopping experience. The store is hosting a Galentine's event on Feb. 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. where there will be a mix of sales, drawings, fresh bakery items and coffee. 

Looking down the road, Nasset and her daughters are excited to continue to expand and grow the venture. One day, they said, it could be cool to add a coffee shop to the mix. In the meantime, a single serve coffee maker allows customers to enjoy a drink while shopping.  

“If you’re going thrifting for the day, this can be a thrift shop. If you have a gift to buy or just want something new, that’s also here,” Nasset said. “There’s something for everyone.” 

To stay up to date with events, new products and more, most information is posted on the shop’s Instagram, @trio_collectives. The shop is located at 1085 B U.S. 2 W in Kalispell and is open from Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
