COEUR d’ALENE — Linden Coffee may have to close its doors for good Sunday, barring a miracle — or perhaps some help from the community.

Linden Coffee owner Cameron Napora fell 15 feet from scaffolding while on a job site for his construction job in January, sustaining major injuries to his head and shattering his heels.

As the sole provider for his wife and nine children, Napora has since been unable to work after undergoing multiple surgeries.

Though he is now continuing his recovery at home, the family is facing the difficult decision of whether to close Linden Coffee for good in order to keep up with the bills.

“His desire was to make a difference in the community through that coffee shop,” Cameron’s daughter, Maarion, said. “So many people in our coffee shop have told us that they’re so disappointed to hear that we might be closing.”

Linden Coffee regular Adam Schluter echoed that sentiment.

"This is a great community business, and I think exactly what makes Coeur d'Alene so special," Schluter said.

Maarion said that she must have baked over 10,000 scones alongside her dad since the family opened Linden Coffee in 2021.

“A lot of blood, sweat and tears have gone into (the shop),” Maarion said.

A GoFundMe titled Aid Cameron's Family Through His Recovery, organized by a relative of Cameron’s, has so far raised almost $28,000.

Today will mark the final push before the family will assess whether Linden Coffee’s future is viable.

“We’re in a pretty tough financial spot,” Maarion said. “If people want to help, of course we’d be grateful.”

For now, the Naporas are unsure of what the future holds. But no matter what, Maarion is proud of her dad.

“He’s a godly man,” Maarion said. “He’s a loving, caring father and just pours into the ones around him.”

Linden Coffee is located at 1502 N. Third St. and is open today from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
