A man accused of shooting at his ex-girlfriend while she retrieved her belongings from his truck in Kalispell last month is facing a felony charge in Flathead County District Court.  

Prosecutors brought Sean Patrick Schrammeck, 62, up on one count of assault with a weapon following the Jan. 30 confrontation on Fourth Avenue West North. Schrammeck, who remains in the county jail with bail set at $100,000, is expected to appear before Judge Dan Wilson on Feb. 13 for his arraignment on the felony charge.  

His ex-girlfriend told Kalispell Police officers that she was collecting her items from Schrammeck's truck when he reached into his belt or pocket and drew a gun, court documents said. Standing about 10 feet away, he allegedly fired the weapon. Then he hopped into the pickup and drove off, according to court documents.  

The victim told authorities she worried he would return as he allegedly had previously threatened to kill her and another man. That man was inside the house at the time and told investigators they saw Schrammeck pull out the gun before aiming it at the victim.  

A neighbor corroborated the accounts, telling the police that they saw two people arguing by a truck and then heard a loud pop, court documents said.  

Officers responded to the Fourth Avenue West North about 6:09 p.m. While there, Scharmmeck allegedly called the man inside the victim's home, telling him on speaker phone that "... you're lucky I didn't shoot you in the face" and "I should have shot you both." 

Officers arrested Schrammeck after tracking down his Ford pickup, court documents said. 

Assault with a weapon is punishable by up to 20 years in Montana State Prison and a $50,000 fine.
