Seniors power Polson past Libby

Seniors Cason Graham and Jesse Vail scored more points than the entire Libby team in a 71-32 Northwestern A Conference rout on Saturday, Feb. 15. Graham had 21 points while Vail scored 11 as Polson improved to 9-7 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
The Pirates went on a 17-3 run to begin the game and had a 33-12 halftime lead. They extended their lead by 10 more points in the third quarter and cruised to victory.
Malakai Curley had 16 points for Polson, including four three-pointers, while Kyson Michel added nine points and nine assists. Also in the three-point club were Vail with three and Graham with two.
Libby fell to 0-10 in conference play and 3-13 overall.

Big fourth lifts Pirates over Bigfork
Polson picked up an important Northwestern A Conference matchup, downing Bigfork on the road 47-41 on Thursday, Feb. 13. Senior Cason Graham had a big night with 19 points, seven rebounds, two steals, and two blocks for the Pirates.
After building a three-point lead in the first quarter, Polson went into halftime with a 22-15 lead. Bigfork struck back in the third, taking a 34-32 lead.
With the game tight, however, the Pirates finished the fourth quarter on a 15-7 run for the victory.
Malakai Curley scored 12 points and added nine rebounds to the Pirates' efforts.
Bigfork fell to 3-7 in conference action and 5-11 overall.

Ronan defeats Browning and Whitefish
Laurance Lozeau hit a three-pointer from the right wing to give Ronan a 50-47 lead, then Wade Qualtier hit two free throws to ice the Chiefs’ first victory over Browning, 52-48, since 2021.
The win improved Ronan to 7-3 in Northwestern A Conference play on Saturday, Feb. 15, and put their record on the season at 11-5.
The Chiefs celebrated Senior Night Feb. 13 with a win over conference foe Whitefish. Ronan went on a 15-6 run in the third quarter to take control of the matchup, leading to a 64-55 victory.
Kolby Finley led the Chiefs with 12 points, five rebounds and six assists, as did Chad Higgins, who also scored 12, pulled down 10 rebounds, and dished out three assists.
Ronan battled for a 34-29 halftime lead and then surged in the third quarter to pull ahead of the Bulldogs. Four Chiefs scored in double-digits as Wade Qualtier scored 11 and Tayen Edmo had 10.
The Bulldogs fell to 2-6 in conference play and 5-8 overall.
Seniors Tayen Edmo, Laurance Lozeau, Wade Qualtier, Sean Small, Chad Higgins, Teddy SpottedEagle, Trey Samsel, and Connor Durglo, through the course of their combined careers, have contributed almost 1,200 points, and more than 600 rebounds, 250 assists, and 200 steals.

Bulldogs take down Superior
Lex LaFrombois crossed the 900-point career milestone with the Bulldogs as Mission defeated Superior 54-46 in Western 7B action on Friday, Feb. 25.
Mission had a two-point lead in the first quarter, but Superior clawed back for a 21-18 halftime lead. In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs outscored Superior 24-12 for the victory. LaFrombois finished with 30 points, while Vinny Shepard had 11 points.
The win improved Mission to 4-6 in league play and 6-12 overall, while the Bobcats fell to 1-8 in league play and 6-11 overall.

LaFrombois scores 45 in win over Plains
In its 66-61 Western 7B victory over Plains on Thursday, Feb. 13, Mission’s Lex LaFrombois scored a new career-high of 45 points. LaFrombois minted a new varsity career high, eclipsing his previous pinnacle of 40 set against Plains the third week of January.
Mission led 31-21 at halftime, and while Plains was able to cut into the lead in the fourth quarter, they couldn’t quite complete the comeback.
Vinny Shepard added 14 points, while Jason Leishman had five.
Plains fell to 2-7 in league play and 6-9 overall.

Mission falls to Troy
Troy continued to play strong in the Western 7B league, defeating Mission 66-59 on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Lex LaFrombois scored 31 points for the Bulldogs and crossed the 400-point mark for the season.
Mission had a 17-14 lead in the first quarter, but Tory battled back for 31-29 halftime lead. The Trojans would add to their lead by four points in the third quarter and kept the Bulldogs at bay in the fourth.
Jason Leishman added 14 points and Vinny Shepard had eight points in Mission’s efforts.
Troy improved to 6-1 in league play and 8-4 overall.

Warriors take down Darby
Arlee exploded in the second quarter en route to a 64-42 Western 6B victory on Saturday, Feb. 15. Josh Horn led the Warriors with 19 points as they improved to 12-6 overall and 4-6 in league play.
The Warriors had a 36-26 halftime lead and then outscored the Tigers by 16 points in the second half.
Darius Tewaina had 11 points, while River Gray had 10 points for Arlee. Aiden Swab added nine points.
Darby fell to 4-14 overall and 0-10 in league play.

Cox scores 31 In Charlo win over Darby
Charlo’s Karson Cox crossed the 400-point milestone for the season as Charlo defeated Victor 78-38 in Western 13C action on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Cox scored 31 points to help lead the Vikings to the big win. Charlo had a 19-7 lead in the first quarter and went into halftime with a 42-16 lead. The Vikings ended the game on a 15-3 run.
Kenyan DuMont added 17 points, while Ranson Hout scored 12 and Tasker Brown notched eight. Cox hit four three-pointers while DuMont had three.
Darby fell to 0-9 in league action.

Two Eagle falls to Seeley Swan
Two Eagle faded in the second half as it fell to Seeley Swan 66-60 in Western 13C play on Friday, Feb. 14. Jayvian Burke scored 18 points to lead the Eagles.
Two Eagle led 35-23 at halftime, but Seeley-Swan outscored Two Eagle by 11 points in the third quarter and seven points in the fourth quarter. The Blackhawks improved to 11-7 overall and 7-4 in league play.
For Two Eagle, Talon Addison and Rhiley Gates each scored 12 points, while LaSean BigDay notched 11.
Two Eagle fell to 5-6 in league play and 9-8 overall.

Two Eagle powers past Phillipsburg
The Eagles had four players in double-digits as they started off hot and finished strong against Phillipsburg in Western 13C play on Monday, Feb. 10.
Jayvian Burke and Thomas Addison each scored 17 points for Two Eagle, while Talon Addison scored 12 and Rhiley Gates had 10.
Two Eagle led 41-27 at halftime, but Phillipsburg went on a 14-4 run in the third quarter. The Eagles responded with a 24-10 run in the fourth quarter.
Phillipsburg fell to 4-13 overall and 3-6 in league play.
