Steve Larson, 71, passed away Feb. 17, 2025, at Logan Health in Whitefish with his wife, Karen by his side. Steve had suffered with Alzheimer’s for many years before coming down with pneumonia.

Steve was born on April 8, 1953, in Seattle to his father, Louis, employed by Boeing as his lifetime career, and his mother, Margaret who worked for the State of Washington. He lived his younger years in Shoreline graduating from the University of Washington.

Steve was an adventurer who loved the freedom of the outdoors. He was a fishing guide and fly in lodge manager of three lodges in Alaska, he was a caddy on the PGA tour and canoed many streams and rivers in the west before settling into a career of purchasing. He was the project facilitator and buyer for a resort in Scottsdale where he met his wife, Karen, of 35 years before they moved to Montana. There he first started as purchasing director for Semi Tool which was acquired by Applied Materials and finished his working years as facilities manager for Flathead Valley Community College; he was involved as project manager for many of those building you now see at the college.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Louis and his mother, Margaret.

He is survived by his wife Karen, his sister Kathryn and many nieces and nephews as well as cousins galore. We will all truly miss him as he was the kindest and most caring person to all who were lucky enough to meet him.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for the family.
