Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 9 months, 4 weeks AGO
Country rock legend Jim Messina is coming to the Wachholz College Center April 30.
Nearly 50 years after first stepping into the studio with Stephen Stills, Neil Young and Richie Furay to engineer “Buffalo Springfield Again,” Messina hits the road with guitar in hand to tell the stories and sing the songs that made Rock & Roll Hall of Famer band, Buffalo Springfield; Poco, and Loggins and Messina, iconic American groups.
The Wacholz College Center is located on the campus of Flathead Valley Community College.
His musical legacy includes playing bass for Buffalo Springfield, becoming a founding member of Poco and was half of the creative force behind the album, “Loggins and Messina,” which sold over 16 million albums throughout the 1970s.
After a series of celebrated solo acoustic tours, Messina formed a band of acclaimed musicians who had played with him at various points throughout his career. His latest release, “In the Groove,” includes selected hits from all three of his previous bands, as well as several solo works. While touring the country and playing sold-out shows, Messina says he’s enjoying discovering who he is; where he’s been and where he’s going.
Ticket prices range from $44 to $57.20, which includes ticket service fees and may be purchased online at wccmt.org or calling the ticket office 756-1400.
The Wachholz is located at 795 Grandview Dr., Kalispell.
