As the Idaho Department of Fish and Game prepares to revise its strategic plan — known as “The Compass” — staff are seeking insight from Idahoans.

The department will field input from North Idaho residents in a 6 p.m. March 11 meeting hosted at the Panhandle Regional Office, 2885 W. Kathleen Ave., Coeur d'Alene. Staff will host seven additional gatherings across the state throughout March and April.

IDFG’s strategic plan informs staff as they make policy and practice decisions. “The Compass” was last updated in 2015; this year, staff are especially seeking comments regarding habitat loss; invasive species and disease; predator management; and hunter, angler, trapper and wildlife viewer satisfaction.

Residents unable to attend in person will be able to access the same information and provide feedback through an online portal beginning March 11.
