The "Shine Within" exhibition will open with a reception at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Art Spirit Gallery.

This collection celebrates the creativity of contemporary artists who express their unique processes through the transformative power of inner vision in their artwork.

"Shine Within" viewers will be invited to explore how each artist uses light to illuminate not only their subjects but also their inner worlds. The exhibit showcases a diverse range of mediums — including painting, photography and mixed media — each artist presenting interpretations of how light interacts with color, form and space, allowing their artistic identities to shine through.

Featured artists include Christian Benoit, a Sandpoint-based artist and building designer whose clean lines and geometric forms reflect his architectural background; Mike DeCesare, whose photography captures the delicate balance between nature and humanity; Denny Driver, who brings emotive energy through his vibrant paintings and has received a notable award from musician Joe Satriani; Lance Green, a pioneering contemporary painter influenced by diverse traditions of Native American and Latin art; and Joel Stehr, who emphasizes aesthetic harmony in his creations and also crafts the frames for his artworks, enhancing their overall ambiance.

Guests will experience firsthand how these artists' individual expressions of light create moments of beauty and deeper understanding, illuminating the ordinary and inviting viewers to connect with the essence of their art.

The opening reception will go until 6 p.m. An artist talk featuring Benoit, DeCesare and Stehr will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be live streamed for those who cannot attend in person.

The Art Spirit is at 415 Sherman Ave., Coeur d'Alene.

Established in 1997, the Art Spirit Gallery features high-quality original work by regional artists embracing a diversity of mediums and styles. The gallery seeks to exhibit artists with a unique voice that show a dedication to craft, materials, observation and creativity.
