The Western News | UPDATED 2 weeks AGO
The beautiful soul that was Jeremy Allen Townsend left this earth on Dec. 22, 2024, in Port Orchard, Washington. He will be remembered with unconditional love and gratitude for being a caring son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend to many.
Jeremy was born in Auburn, Washington on Oct. 3, 1991, a beautiful light in the lives of his loving mother, Dawn Sonju, and father, James Townsend. He moved to Libby in 1996 with his mother and sister Ashley where he spent many years of his life. In his 33 years on this earth, he lived and loved with his whole heart - leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
Jeremy had a gift for bringing people joy and comfort. Whether he was cracking a joke, lending an ear during a hard time, sharing something he learned or a funny story, or “just calling to check-in and see how you’re doing," he had a way of effortlessly making people smile.
Perhaps one of Jeremy’s most remarkable legacies is his music. He shared this passion freely with anyone and everyone through live shows, recorded music or freestyle jam sessions, no sheet music needed. He also enjoyed building and repairing amps, pedals and guitars, ensuring every project was infused with his passion. For those who witnessed him play, it was clear the music flowed through his veins. It was a part of him.
Jeremy’s love was as vast as his talent. His generosity knew no bounds. He often sought out those in need to offer food, support, or a listening ear. He touched countless lives just by being present and offering his friendship during life’s hardest moments.
Although his time on this earth was far too brief, Jeremy filled every moment with love, laughter, kindness and unrelenting passion. The loss that is felt from Jeremy passing is immeasurable.
He is survived by his mother Dawn Sonju and stepfather Rick Sonju of Libby; his father Jim Townsend; his partner Marites Scott of Port Orchard, Washington; his brothers and sisters: Jenna Mugford, Jared Sonju of Libby, Ashley Sonju of Billings and Tyler Sonju of Williston, North Dakota; nieces and nephews: Adalee Curtis, Everleigh Mugford, Maddox Collins, Westin Mugford; aunts/uncles/cousins: Tabitha, Donald, Jake, Rhyan and Bellis Holmes, Teresa, Peter, Maria, and Alyssa Murphy and Josh Colomb.
