A suspect is in custody after three family members were stabbed in St. Regis on Monday, authorities report.

Mineral County Sheriff Ryan Funke said he arrived at the residence and found an adult victim with stab wounds, along with a juvenile victim and another adult victim inside the home that each sustained life-threatening injury.

Funk and another Sheriff's Office deputy found the male suspect inside the home. He did not follow initial commands, Funke said, and was taken to the ground and arrested without further resistance. The suspect was transported to the Mineral County Detention Center. Funke did not release his name.

Two of the victims were transported by ambulance to a hospital in Missoula, while the third victim was taken to Mineral Community Hospital in Superior.

A GoFundMe account was set up to support the victims with a goal of $15,000. According to the page, the victims included Marianne Joy, and her daughter and father who were both in the hospital's intensive care unit.

"They will have a long road to recovery and medical bills as you all know add up fast," fundraiser organizer Jennifer Bluell wrote.

The Montana Department of Criminal Investigations was called to assist Mineral County with the crime scene.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this tragic time," Funke said.
