The North Lake County Library launches the New Year with a new line-up of children’s programs.

Offerings include: Toddler Time, a new program for 2 and 3 year olds that emphasizes movement as youngsters read active stories, dance and “shake it all about,” at 10 a.m. Thursdays; Story Time for 3-5 year olds, 2 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays, with different themes each week; and Mother Goose, a program for infants up to 24 months, 10 a.m. Fridays.

A technology class at 11 a.m. Jan. 11 explores Twine, an open source storytelling tool that allows creators to design interactive "Choose Your Own Adventure" stories while picking up basic HTML and CSS skills. Registration is required; call 406-883-8225.

Young readers gather from 4-5 p.m. Jan. 15 to discuss “A Place to Hang the Moon” by Kate Albus, the latest installment of the Page Turner’s Youth Book Club. A discussion, activities and snacks are on tap. Register at the front desk or call the library.

The library’s next Book Donation Day, coordinated by the Friends of the Library, is Jan. 16 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. There is a limit of two boxes at a time.

The library is also co-hosting a virtual program via the Montana Library Network, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 16, titled “Preserving Montana’s Oral Histories and Traditions.” This program trains participants how to interview, collect and archive oral histories in their communities.
