Bruins pull away in OT to beat Braves

HELENA — Dylan Almquist scored 19 points, including four 3-pointers and the Helena Bruins outscored the Flathead Braves 5-2 in overtime to pull away with a 69-66-win Friday night. 


Lyric Ersland led the way for the Braves, scoring a team-high 23 points, including four 3–pointers.  Gabe St. Germaine scored 15 and Korbin Eaton added 13 as the only three players to reach double-figures for the Braves. 


Four players reached double figures for the Bruins. Conor Tolvonen scored 13, Brenton Belzer added 12 and Kyle Bachmeier finished with 10.  


The Braves outscored the Bruins 37-31 in the first half but were then outscored 38-29 in the second half and overtime to lose the game. It was a back-and-forth game with the game being tied eight different times and four lead changes.  


The Braves have a short turnaround as they play Helena High tomorrow at 2 p.m.
