On Dec. 27, 2024, at the age of 71, Edward Thomas McIntee of Butte, Mont., passed from this life on to the next to live with the lord. Ed was born in Butte to Thomas and Maxine McIntee on May 9, 1953.

At age 16, the tough Butte boy moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. There, he attended high school and became an apprentice autobody man. Ed met Georgia Gessner, fell in love and the two were married Nov. 28, 1970, to November 1998. They had two children, Stacey and Nick.

Ed worked at LP Sawmill from 1971 to 1985, where he made lifelong friends. He was a man of many accomplishments and was able to retire young from the nine to five due to his skills in remodeling, building and flipping houses, which he continued to do throughout his life. He enjoyed many years of hunting, camping and boating with family and friends in Cd'A and North Idaho. Ed always loved motorcycles, and his passion for Harleys became a big part of his life when he moved back to Butte in 1999. He was fortunate enough to be able to care for his dad, Tom. During this time, he ran his dad's bar, Buds Tavern. So, the tough kid from Butte grew into the ornery and the loving Ed that we all loved. He had many hobbies, including being an avid rockhound, drawing and watching westerns, to name a few. Ed was a man of integrity with a huge heart and would go out of his way to lend a hand and share a laugh. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas McIntee (Butte, Mont.), mother Maxine Peterson (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho), sister Lynn McIntee and brother John McIntee. He is survived by brother Robert McIntee; sister Connie Brady (Robert); brother Ron McIntee; daughter Stacey Davis (Matthew); son Nicholas McIntee; grandsons Travis Williams (Talia), Tanner Williams (Mariana), Darian Berkey, Ian McIntee; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Neal, Miles, Jasmin and Abigail, due in March; several nieces and nephews; many dear friends and his best little buddy, Smiley, his dog.

A funeral service to honor Ed's life will be held Jan. 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Church — 919 E. Indiana Ave., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814.
