Yanik named scholarship recipient
Caiya Yanık has been named as the 2022 recipient of the Erik Bruhjell Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is sponsored by the Bonner County Democrats.
Yanik plans to attend Boise State University.

Norling named to ONU dean's list
Caleb Norling of Sandpoint was named to the dean's list at Olivet Nazarene University during the recently completed spring 2024 semester. To qualify for inclusion on the dean's list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 grading scale.
Olivet Nazarene University is an accredited Christian, liberal arts university offering more than 140 areas of undergraduate and graduate study, including a doctor of education in ethical leadership.

Miller earns academic honors
Logan Miller of Sandpoint, was named to the dean's honor list at Cedarville University for fall 2024. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.75 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Cedarville University, a Baptist institution in southwest Ohio, offers undergraduate and graduate residential and online programs across arts, sciences, and professional fields. With 6,384 students, it ranks among Ohio's largest private universities and is recognized by the Wall Street Journal as being among the nation's top three evangelical universities.

Kylie Burnett earns all-academic honors
Kylie Burnett from Dover has earned Liberty League All-Academic honors in recognition of their excellence in the classroom.
Burnett is a member of the Class of 2026 and is majoring in government and English. They are a member of the Saints Women's Soccer team. Burnett attended Shattuck-Saint Mary's School.
To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic team a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and enrolled full-time with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.
Founded in 1856, St. Lawrence University is a private, independent liberal arts institution of about 2,250 students located in Canton, New York.

SCC releases fall honor roll
Spokane Community College lists 2350 students on its honor roll for the 2024 fall quarter, which ended in December. The honor roll lists those students who achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or above.
SCC is one of two community colleges within the Spokane Colleges district. It is known for its programs in career and technical training as well as its apprenticeship programs, but it also offers associates degrees including those that are transfer-ready for those going into universities. SCC serves more than 15,000 students annually.
Area students who earned honors include Robert Bauer of Oldtown, Brayden Davis of Sagle, Savannah Hudson of Priest River, Bryce Rosequist of Moyie Springs and Erica Thompson of Sandpoint.
Spokane Colleges is a state community college district that includes Spokane Community College, Spokane Falls Community College and six rural education sites, serving residents in Pend Oreille, Stevens, Whitman, Ferry and parts of Lincoln counties. The district enrolls about 34,000 students a year.

Oster named to Utah's summer dean's list
Nikolas Oster of Dover, was named to the University of Utah's Summer 2024 dean's list.
Oster was among more than 2,800 students named to the summer 2024 dean's list at Utah. To qualify, the students earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher in at least 12 graded credit hours during the summer term.

LC State announces fall honor roll
A total of 975 students made Lewis-Clark State College’s honor roll for the 2024 fall semester.
To qualify for the president's list students must have a 3.75 grade point average or higher for the semester and take at least 12 graded credits in 100 level classes or above. The dean's list uses the same requirements, but students must have a GPA between 3.25 and 3.749. Pass/fail classes do not count as graded credits.
LC State had 572 students make the president’s list and 403 make the dean’s list.

Adams performed in holiday concert
Belmont University's Hannah Adams was among more than 600 student musicians and vocalists to perform in the annual concert tradition, "Christmas at Belmont: Live from Nashville."
"It's not just a stage of choral orchestral people singing Christmas song after Christmas song," explained Director of Choral Activities Dr. Jeffery Ames. "We could have a poignant piece by a loft choir followed by pop ensemble singing the latest Christmas chart, then percussion ensemble, country, bluegrass -- and then the orchestra shows their skills."
The 90-minute performance featured more than 600 student musicians and vocalists where viewers will witness the depth of Belmont's musical education. Filmed live in front of an audience at the University's Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, more than 15 student choirs and ensembles performed including the Belmont Chorale, Symphony Orchestra, Southbound (country) and Voxology, among many others.
Located two miles from downtown Nashville, Tennessee, Belmont University comprises nearly 9,000 students from every state and 33 countries.

SFCC releases fall honor roll
Spokane Falls Community College lists 1,698 students on its honor roll for the fall quarter 2024, which ended in December. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above to be listed on the honor roll.
SFCC is one of two community colleges within the Spokane Colleges district and serves over 5,000 students. It is renowned for its theater, music and fine arts as well as its STEM programs.
Area students who earned a spot on the list include Christina Herrbach of Priest River, Bradley Gleason of Oldtown, Isis Taylor of Priest Lake and Aubree Lane of Sandpoint.
