BONNERS FERRY, Idaho — The Flathead Braves hits some big shots Tuesday, including seven 3-pointers from Lyric Ersland, but Lakeland, Idaho managed to outscore them 91-90 in triple-overtime. 

Ersland poured in 34 points to go with 17 rebounds and six assists for Flathead. His fourth 3-pointer came at the end of regulation, tying the game at 64-all and forced the first overtime. 

Colin Smith hit a layup in the final seconds of the second overtime to force another four-minute period. Finally the Hawks out of Rathdrum, Idaho — the game was played on a neutral court in front of a sparse crowd — built a sizable lead in the third OT.  

Gabe Harris scored 31 to lead Lakeland, and Peyton Hillman added 22. Hillman hit two free throws — he rebounded a missed free throw by teammate Brayden Carrell — to put the Hawks up 91-87. 

Ersland’s seventh 3-pointer came just before the buzzer, capping the scoring. 

Korbin Eaton hit a pair of threes and added 22 points for Flathead; Dustyn Franchini-White hit four 3-pointers on the way to 16 points. 

“Great game from Lyric,” Flathead coach Dan Trageser said. “Korbin had his best game of the year. Dustyn played 43 minutes and hit some big threes down the strettch. Just a really gutsy performance by him.” 

Mason Hensley added 16 for Lakeland, which outscored Flathead 30-15 at the line. Four Braves fouled out. 

Both Flathead teams are at Missoula Big Sky Thursday night, then are home for a double header against Butte High. The girls game is first Saturday, at 3 p.m.

Karstyn Kiefer scored 14 points and Landree Simon added 13 for the Hawks, who steadily pulled away to beat the Bravettes. 

Mattie Thompson had 14 points for Flathead, including a 3-pointer. Ava Malmin hit two threes for Flathead.
