North Idaho College will participate in the Coaches vs. Cancer campaign at the basketball games against Utah State Eastern on Thursday, Jan. 30, at Christianson Gymnasium at NIC’s Coeur d’Alene campus  

The women’s game starts at 5 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 7 p.m.

Coaches of both teams will wear suits and sneakers as part of the nationwide effort to raise awareness and encourage people to educate themselves on the importance of prevention, screening and early detection of cancer, all while raising funds to help save lives. The event is sponsored by Kootenai Health and Ziply Fiber and will feature pink shirt giveaways and other cancer awareness activities throughout the evening.

The North Idaho College Booster Club will accept donations during both games, with proceeds benefitting the Kootenai Health Foundation to support local cancer research, services and awareness, and promote cancer prevention efforts. Cash, card and check donations are accepted.
