PREP ROUNDUP: Priest River handles Kellogg in Central Idaho League tilt

PRIEST RIVER — Senior Desi Humphrey had 23 points and six rebounds for the Priest River Spartans in a 41-24 Central Idaho League win over the Kellogg Wildcats on Thursday at Priest River High. 

Junior Aleigha Jensen had 11 points and six rebounds for Priest River (10-3, 3-0 CIL), which travels to Grangeville on Saturday. 

Senior Aubree Groth scored 10 points for Kellogg (5-7, 2-2), which faces Genesis Prep at The Courts in Post Falls on Saturday.

BONNERS FERRY — Senior Asher Williams poured in 23 points, including three 3-pointers, junior Sulay Abubakari had two 3-pointers and added 17 points and the host Badgers (13-0) routed the Bears in nonleague play for their 30th straight victory, stretching back to last season. 

“Thomas (Bateman) had a great night on the boards,” Bonners coach Nathan Williams said. “Brody (Rice) did a great job on the press and distributing the ball. I was proud of our defensive effort and overall teamwork.” 

Bonners Ferry plays at Timberlake on Saturday at noon in the Backwoods Brawl spirit game.

A scheduled dual with Fergus High of Lewistown, Mont., was canceled due to a scheduling conflict. 

Lake City will compete in the Rocky Mountain Classic today and Saturday at Sentinel High in Missoula.
