Taylor-Jefferson wills Polson to victory

BROWNING — Polson’s Rylee Taylor-Jefferson poured in 29 points, including the last five of the game to lift the Lady Pirates over Browning 45-44 in Northwest A girls basketball action. 

Taylor-Jefferson's heroics came after Shaylee Heavy Runner hit a three to put Browning up 44-40 with 1:35 left. The Polson guard hit a three with just under a minute left, then — after Browning missed a shot — hit a breakaway layup off a feed from Olivia Ramirez with 13 seconds remaining.  

Browning then missed a contested final shot. Heavy Runner led the Lady Indians with 14 points, including two threes.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Braeden Gunlock scored 26 points, Paeten Gunlock added 21 and the Bigfork Valkyries downed Columbia Falls in Northwest A action. 

Somer Campos and Chloe Norred each scored six points in the first half while the Vals built a 45-18 lead. Leah Gibb and Paeten Gunlock had two 3-pointers each. 

Taryn Borgen led the Wildkats with 12 points, including two 3-pointers.

RONAN — Nevaeh Perez scored 13 points to lead a balanced Ronan scoring attack, and the Maidens downed Libby.

Perez was 6 of 8 from the field and Ronan shot 55 percent (24 of 44) as a team. Kylee Kelch added nine points for the Maidens. 

Madison Vincent led the Loggers with 10.

ST. IGNATIUS — Kieran Incashola scored 31 points including nine three pointers as Mission defeated Eureka Thursday. 

Incashola’s performance is the 10th time a Montana girl has made nine or more threes in a game, according to the MHSA’s record book. Last season and the first since Bouldere’s Mackenzie Layng knocked down 10 against Manhattan Christian in 2024. 

Incashola’s 3-point barrage were a part of a 11-triple game for the Bulldogs (3-3), Leslia Stops and Madison Incashola also hit from behind the arc. Cora Matt added 10 points. 

Brynn Miller scored a team-high 19 points for the Lions (0-6).
