SANDPOINT — Carson Leonard (120 pounds), Cash Lund (138) and Cole Cooper (144) won by pin for the Lakeland Hawks in a 50-29 win over the host Sandpoint Bulldogs in the Battle for the Paddle spirit dual at Sandpoint High on Friday.
Jaren Knopp (126), Austin Howell (150) and Kalab Hammer (157) won by technical fall for Lakeland, which hosts Post Falls on Jan. 28.

at Rocky Mountain Classic
MISSOULA, Mont. — Nash Larsen (103), Rocco White (110), Will Rossi (118), Tanner George (132), Logan Bradley (144), Colton Tucker (150) and Brock Armstrong (165) advanced to the semifinals for Coeur d’Alene, which is second after the first day at the Jug Beck Rocky Mountain Classic at Sentinel High on Friday.
“All of our guys wrestled hard and had a good day,” Coeur d’Alene coach Jeff Moffat said. “To put seven guys in the semis with only 12 here, it’s a good day for us. Nash is a solid wrestler and did a good job winning some big matches. Will had a really good day and looked good throughout. To be in second with only 12, it’s a good spot to be in. But there’s a lot of wrestling yet.”
Coeur d’Alene has 119 points, and trails Flathead High of Kalispell, which leads with 131 points.
Nathan Booth (175) and Garrett Leonard (215) advanced to the semifinals for Lake City, which is 16th with 61.5 points.
Lake City’s Alexxis Johnson went 3-0 in the Hellgate Invitational at Hellgate High to advance to the semifinals.
Both tournaments conclude today.

Tiger-Grizz after first day
IDAHO FALLS — Post Falls wrestlers Tristan Mendenhall (98 pounds), Rider Seguine (138), Kyle Miller (157), Damion Hamilton (165), Trey Smith (175) and Seth Martin (190) advanced to the semifinals of the Tiger-Grizz Invitational by going unbeaten on the first day at Skyline High.
Post Falls leads the 30-team tournament with 125.5 points, followed by Meridian with 108.

Day 1 at Clearwater Classic
LEWISTON — Kellogg’s Johnny Stovern (106 pounds), Kevin Watson (106), Colton Storey (113), Aiden Figueroa (113), Ricky Haralson (126), Wyatt Storey (132), Treven Bush (132), Chase Scribner (138) and Tanner Williams (144) advanced to the semifinals of the Clearwater Classic with unbeaten showings on Friday at Lewiston High.
Tournament host Lewiston leads with 128 points, followed by Kellogg with 117.
Dylan Coulson (98), Micah Miller (98), Chance Tucker (106), Justus Peregrina (113), Trevor Edwards (126) and Dominic Prangley (138) advanced to the semis for Coeur d’Alene, which is third with 114 points.
Coulson and Miller are on opposite sides of their bracket
Kody Tefft (157), Zach David (157) and Aiden Yearout (165) are into the semis for St. Maries, which is sixth with 81 points.
