MOSES LAKE – Three Moses Lake men were booked into the Grant County Jail on Tuesday morning for assaulting a man, threatening to kill him and stealing his car on Monday, according to a statement from Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
At around 3 p.m. Monday, deputies received a report regarding an assault at the 14000 block of Third Street Northeast. The victim who reported the incident said he was driving on Grape Drive and picked up two men who were asking for a ride.
After arriving at a home in the Wheeler community, the two men began to beat the victim. A third suspect then came out of a trailer, took the victim’s car keys and threatened to kill the victim if he called the police.
Deputies arrested Lazaro Castro, 33, who was inside the trailer. They also arrested Enrique Leon, 32, who was hiding in a pickup and trying to leave the neighborhood.
Francisco Romero, 37, was identified as the third suspect and also taken into custody after being identified by the victim.
Salvador, Leon and Romero were booked into Grant County Jail on suspicion of second-degree robbery. The charge of second-degree robbery was used because suspects allegedly used or threatened to use immediate force, violence or fear of injury to take the vehicle, according to the GCSO announcement.
