PREP ROUNDUP: Kellogg pins down Sandpoint

KELLOGG — Carsun Hinkelmann (126 pounds), Treven Bush (138), Chase Scribner (144), Brady Vergobbi (150) and Jayce Haynes (157) had pins for the Kellogg Wildcats in a 47-35 win over the Sandpoint Bulldogs on Wednesday at Andrews Gymnasium.
Colton Storey won by technical fall at 120 for Kellogg, which competes in the North/South Duals on Friday and Saturday at Clearwater Valley High in Kooskia.
“Our kids came out and wrestled their tails off tonight,” Kellogg coach Scott Miller said. “We are going through illness and injuries, so we had to bounce some kids up a weight class, but they stepped up and really performed well for us.”
Sandpoint travels to Bonners Ferry tonight.

BONNERS FERRY — Brenna Elliott had 11 points and five steals for the Lumberjacks in a nonleague loss to the Badgers at Bonners Ferry High.
Sophomore Nollie Hiatt scored 20 points for Bonners Ferry (10-7), which led 47-26 at halftime.
Senior Averie Baird had nine points and five rebounds for St. Maries (3-11), which hosts Kellogg on Friday.
Bonners Ferry hosts Lakeside on Jan. 30.
