Libby’s Greenchain Wrestling Club has expanded their opportunities to include year-round training and more travel tournament participation.

Thanks to the support of coaches and parents, these youth are able to enhance their wrestling skills and level of competition. Athletes pictured have been dedicated to improving their mindset, technique, strength and endurance.

It paid off this last weekend. Coach Christian Skeers traveled with these wrestlers as they competed at the Helltown Throwdown in Helena,  which is one of the larger Western Montana youth wrestling tournaments.

Helltown historically hosts almost 1,000 wrestlers from Montana and surrounding states.

Khori Skeers and Waylon Katzer brought home some impressive hardware with Khori placing first and Waylon placing fifth.

In the same weekend, they also traveled to Butte to compete in the Butte Starter Folkstyle Wrestling Tournament. At this tournament, all Libby wrestlers placed either first or second.

First place medalists included Khori Skeers, Noah Scofield and Isaiah Hilyer as well as to second place medalists Waylon Katzer and Steven Delarosa.

The hard work, consistent training, and commitment that is being put forth by these wrestlers is leading to success on the mat.
