Othello man booked for drive-by shooting

OTHELLO – The Adams County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a drive-by shooting at around 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of South Kirstina Road.

According to a statement from ASCO, deputies found the residence had been struck several times by gunfire; however, no one inside the residence was injured.  

Through investigation, probable cause was developed for the arrest of Brian S. Ramirez, 27, Othello, for the suspicion of the drive-by shooting. Deputies were unable to locate Ramirez on Saturday.  

At around 2 p.m. Sunday, the Othello Police Department located Ramirez at his workplace. He was arrested and booked for suspicion of drive-by shooting. The departments determined it was an isolated incident.

A man who killed a “well-known” trophy-class bulk elk with a rifle during an archery-only season is guilty of a felony offense, according to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.

One dies in canal accident near Ephrata

EPHRATA – Kevin Kershaw, 55, of Yakima was attempting to drive his 2025 GMC Sierra on the canal road when he attempted to turn around and lost control of the vehicle Thursday. The vehicle slid into the canal and Kershaw was found deceased downstream from the vehicle.
