Bigfork High School speech and debate is sending eight team members to State after a hard-fought weekend at Divisionals in Polson. All members who attended the competition will continue to the State Tournament.

“I am so proud of this team. They have worked so hard this season,” Coach Shirley Stine said.  “We leave on Thursday morning for Laurel and start competing on Friday.”

Cy Devlin and Maddie Pomeroy and Olivia Close and Jake Baldi will compete in duo interpretation, Micah Butler and Brody Henion in dramatic interpretation, Tristen Feller in informative and Reese Nadeau in humorous interpretation. Pomeroy and Baldi qualified to be double-entered in the tournament, in original oratory and dramatic interpretation, respectively.

The State Tournament will take place at Laurel High School on Friday, Jan 31 and Saturday, Feb. 1 with competition times to be announced.
