KELLOGG — It was a night of celebrating the helpers Thursday when the Silver Valley Chamber of Commerce held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Night at Noah’s Loft.

The Silver Valley Chamber organizes several large events throughout Shoshone County, including Silver Hoops 3-on-3, the Jackass Half Marathon and the Summer Music in the Park series. Without the volunteers, none of these community events would be possible.

“Volunteers are the backbone of our community and are invaluable,” former Chamber President Juli Zook said. “Their dedication makes a huge difference and sometimes they do not receive much recognition. We appreciate all their hard work, time and support.”

Attendance was at near all-time highs across the board for the SVC’s events in 2024, which meant that more volunteers were needed than ever before. Zook said she believes the events and volunteers are symbiotic with one another.

“Our events would not be as successful without them,” Zook said. “We are looking forward to having our volunteers return next year as they complete our events and have a good time while giving back to the community.”

Zook is once again a past president of the SVC, but during her latest stint guiding the group, she emphasized growing its memberships and volunteer base, while refining the group’s annual event lineup.

“Our events were very well received and supported by the business community and our locals,” Zook said. “The participation and events have grown every year. Our membership has increased, which is always a very positive sign that we are on the right track. I am looking forward to my year as past president with the same attitude of making our community thrive.”

Along with the celebration, several volunteers and volunteer organizations were presented with awards during the evening.

The awards were as follows:
