Wadsworth’s outing earns Mission Valley split with Missoula

POLSON — Cole Wadsworth threw a complete game and allowed one hit in a 7-0 Mission Valley win over the Missoula A Mavericks as the teams split a Tuesday doubleheader.
The Mavericks (11-14) claimed game two 11-1 in five innings.
Wadsworth’s performance fueled the Mariners (15-15) on both sides of the plate in game one, going 2-for-3 and scoring three runs to go with his pitching performance. On the mound he struck out six.
Paxton DuMont doubled and singled while driving in four runs for Mission Valley. Cody Haggard also doubled and brought in a run.
Trevor Johnson picked up the lone hit in game one for Missoula.
In game two, Johnson went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, including a pair of doubles.
Isaac Thorne added a 2-for-4 outing and drove in two runs, while crossing the plate twice himself.
Thorne also threw four scoreless innings, allowing four hits and striking out two.
