Briefs: Roholt gets one for the thumb

Ron Roholt recorded the fifth hole-in-one of his career Monday, on the 12th hole of the Bear Nine at Eagle Bend Golf Club. 

Roholt used a 6-iron to cover the 184-yard distance. Witnessing the ace was Rick Lewis. 


Osweiler camp set for July 16

The Flathead Braves’ Win the Day Camp, hosted by Flathead High and NFL alum Brock Osweiler, is set for July 16 at Legends Stadium. 

Players in grades 5-8 can register for the one-day camp, which runs from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., by emailing [email protected]


Area runners excel in Missoula Marathon 

Polson’s Jason Delaney and Micah Drew of Whitefish finished fourth and fifth at the Missoula Marathon on June 29, which Missoula native Mark Messmer won for a sixth time. 

Messmer won in 2 hours, 21 minutes and 12 seconds. 

Delaney finished in 2:35.01; Drew was next at 2:35.27. Daley was the top finisher in the Master Male section. 

Morgan Delaney, Jason’s daughter and a junior-to-be at Polson High, was sixth in the women’s marathon at 2:58.23. She was the top finisher among females 19 and under. 

Bailee Parker-Godfrey of West Yellowstone won the race in 2:48.01.  

In the Non-Binary results, March Schattenberg of Whitefish was first at 3:27.22. 

Kristi McVicker of Kalispell was second in the Female 60-64 group, finishing in 4:29.19. 

Several more runners finished high in the half-marathon, including: Ronan’s Jackson Duffey and Glacier High’s Owen Thiel, third and fifth; and Elizabeth Wasserman of Columbia Falls, who was fifth overall among the women.
