Three people fell into Glacier National Park’s Avalanche Gorge on Sunday night, according to posts on social media.

The Whitefish Fire Department along with Glacier Park rangers responded to the call. Details weren’t immediately available, but according to a post by the Whitefish  Fire Department, two people were transported by ambulance to local hospitals and another was transported via the ALERT helicopter.

Their conditions were unknown.

Avalanche Gorge is one of the most popular sites in Glacier and sees thousands of visitors a day. Its slippery rocks can also be an appealing, but dangerous attraction as the water is extremely cold and the gorge is rife with logs and undercuts.

One Facebook post showed a boy clinging to a tree above the water above the gorge.
