Anita (Berendes) Rowan started her journey home at Hospice of North Idaho in Coeur d'Alene at the age of 88. Born on Nov. 1, 1936, in Bellevue, Iowa, to Earl and Sylvia (Frantzen) Berendes.

She married Eldon Rowan on June 8, 1954, in Bellevue. Eldon passed Jan. 4, 2021. As lifelong companions of 66 years, they were blessed with four children. She loved the outdoors, tended bar, danced and socialized when she was younger. As head of household, she especially loved cleaning house. She spent many hours caring for her family and tending to her flowers as Eldon drove truck, which is what brought them to Coeur d'Alene in 1977 with their three sons.

She is survived by her children Connie (Butch) Edwards, Ron Rowan, Brad (Chris) Rowan, Marty (Cindy) Rowan. Nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Berendes.

No services will be held at Anita's request. The family would like to thank the compassionate and caring nurses and staff of Hospice of North Idaho Schneidmiller House, where donations can be directed. 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815.
