LEGION BASEBALL: Prairie wins twice at Gonzaga Showcase

SPOKANE — After dropping two games Sunday at the Gonzaga Showcase, the Prairie Cardinals bounced back with two victories Monday, beating Prospect United 8-6 and the King County Mets 7-4, both at Gonzaga University.
In the first game, Gavin Wienker went 2 for 4 with a two-run triple in the second inning that put Prairie up 6-0. James Morast also had a pair of hits for the Cardinals.
In the second game, Alec Finn went 2 for 4 with a two-run single to cap a four-run first inning for Prairie. Timothy Howard and Isaiah Kearney each had two hits for the Cardinals. Grady Stinson struck out five and scattered seven hits in a complete-game victory.
Prairie (16-11-1) returns to action Thursday, playing host to the Lewis-Clark Cubs in a 5 p.m. doubleheader at Brett James Memorial Field in Post Falls.
